| Question
: |
What
do I do to play a game? |
Answer
: |
To
play these games, you will need two things, a working emulator and a copy of the
game. Look at the details of the game you want to play to see what platform it ran
on, then download a suitable emulator for your computer. Install the emulator on your
computer, then download the game. Most games will need unzipping before you can play them. |

How
do I 'unzip' |
Answer

To
Unzip a compressed file, you will need a utility such as Winzip. Compressing (zipping up) a file, makes it smaller so it will
download quicker. |

| Question
: |
How
do I use this emulator? |
Answer
: |
Good
question... I don't know, there are so many available that I cant run a tutorial about
each on this site. Your best bet is to read the documentation that came with it. If
you are running in a windows environment, and just want to play the game, try double
clicking the game files icon first. |

| Question
: |
I
have a bunch of games on tape/disk that I want to put on my PC. How can I do this |
Answer
: |
Good
for you! But honestly, you are probably wasting your time as just about every game
is already online somewhere. If you really want to do it, find an emulator for your
games platform that will load from the original tape/disk drive. Along with the
emulator you should find documentation that shows you how to build a cable to connect your
tape/disk drive to the PC. If you do find your game online already, why not add to
it by sending me a scan of the games inlay card (see Wanted)?

| Question
: |
Is
this legal? What about copyright |
Answer
: |
Emulation
and distribution of these old platforms is a gray area in the law. The games you see
here will never make money again, and most have been made public domain, however a few
publishing houses still don't want their 15 year old games to be played. (Do they know of
some new way of making money?) Another thing to remember is that it is totally legal
to own a copy of the game if you own the original tape. |
